Connect an image plane to a separately specified photon readout
A sensing chain can combine correct component formulas into an incorrect overall conclusion if the connections between them are not justified. Here a thin converging lens with focal length10 cm images an object20–40 cm before it. The lens relation determines a real image plane and signed magnification. It does not determine how much optical power reaches the detector: source radiance, aperture, loss and geometry would be needed. We therefore place the virtual detector at the calculated plane and independently stipulate illumination2 nW.
Learning outcome: Choose two object positions at one photon energy and two photon energies at one object position. Freeze the image/readout predictions before revealing them. Reconstruct charge and energy accounts, then identify one unsupported cross-stage inference and the independent observation that would test it.

At object distance30 cm, the image is15 cm after the lens and magnification−0.5. With2.5 eV photons the stipulated current is0.2 nA and asymptotic readout voltage0.4 V. At2 s, voltage is0.4(1−exp(−2))≈0.345865887 V. Source work, resistor conversion and capacitor energy must close separately from the independently supplied2 nW optical input.

Does the calculated lens magnification by itself determine the stipulated detector optical power?

Geometry, photon conversion and readout dynamics each need their own independently declared premise.
The thin-lens relation gives image distance and magnification, not collected optical power. The latter is supplied independently. With the chosen yield, current in nA is .25×2/Ephoton only above the2 eV threshold; below or at threshold this recipe assigns no finite current. For the stipulated current source, C dV/dt=I−V/R gives V=IR(1−exp(−t/RC)). Current-source work integral I V dt splits into resistor conversion integral V²/R dt and capacitor energy CV²/2. This is a readout-circuit ledger, not a total optical-to-electrical efficiency or a self-consistent microscopic collection model.
Predict before inspecting the values. Save contrasting records with assumptions and one alternative explanation. This virtual display does not certify practical measurement technique.

Save a science backup or import one
Science work is stored locally in this browser, separately from mathematics and AI. It does not sync automatically. Use this science-only backup; this checkout's older all-subject export does not include science.
A legacy file is available only when the complete snapshot fits the 36 MB limit. For larger snapshots, prepare a complete file set below; never discard notebooks to make a smaller file.
Matching imported notebook drafts replace their current drafts. Omitted lessons and known first attempts remain. Export your current work first if you want to retain both drafts.
Complete file sets and course backups
A file set can hold more work than one science file. Keep its manifest and every part together. Each file is limited to 36 MB. This format needs this version of LearnAI or a compatible newer version; older versions can use only the legacy single-file backup above.
The set includes every saved science course and global continuation at this moment. Later edits need a new export. A conflicting tab exports its own visible work, which may differ from saved work in another tab.
0 file(s) selected. File order and filenames do not determine identity. Missing, changed or conflicting parts block the entire restore; no good part is applied by itself.
