Fit a boost from one record and test unused event differences

An inverse problem needs a training record, an independent prediction and explicit uncertainty. The original training clock is at rest in S. A measured ratio of its event differences in S′ is Δx′/Δt′=−0.6 with hard bound ±e, so the frame boost lies in β=0.6±e. Only this ratio is supplied; no absolute training time increment is available to impose an additional hidden constraint.

Learning outcome: Derive both β derivatives, include the interior stationary point, freeze the training range and compare the unused coordinate intervals. Keep calibration changes, uncertainty revision and new-model proposals distinct from original validation.

Name event pairs, frame signs and c=1 units; retain simultaneity, worldline integration, four-momentum and unused evidence boundaries.

All lessons are open directly. Your saved experiments remain when you leave and return.

Try

For e=0.02, β lies from 0.58 to 0.62. The unused spatial prediction spans about −0.127453 to 0.122757, and time spans 4 to 4.002030. If a=0.2, the measured spatial interval is 0.15 to 0.25, disjoint from the predicted interval, so this declared model/bound combination fails the unused check.

Worked teaching model · synthetic values · Original training clock is at rest in S; a separate event-difference ratio in S′ measures its slope u′=−0.6 with hard bound±b, hence β=0.6±b. These original virtual events and collision records are not an actual clock, accelerator, photon-source or practical experiment. No physical apparatus operation is assigned.

Understand

1. Define events, frames and conserved quantities

Freeze that boost range before using the separate S event pair (Δt,Δx)=(5,3). The central boost predicts (Δt′,Δx′)=(4,0). The unused record instead reports (4,a), with each coordinate bounded by ±0.05. These are original fictional readings and hard error limits, not actual synchronized-clock data or statistical confidence intervals.

Propagating bounds requires more than evaluating every quantity at the same endpoint. For x′(β)=γ(3−5β), the derivative is γ³(3β−5), negative over this domain. Its extrema are at the boost endpoints. For t′(β)=γ(5−3β), the derivative is γ³(5β−3), so the minimum occurs at the interior value β=0.6 and equals 4; the maximum is the larger endpoint value.

The tool compares coordinate intervals as a necessary compatibility screen. Disjoint intervals reject the training-derived range under the declared bounds; overlap is not unique-model proof and in a general multidimensional problem need not guarantee one common parameter fits every coordinate simultaneously. Reusing the unused record to adjust the fit would change its evidentiary role. A difference between central invariant values must also be interpreted with the measurement bounds, not treated as an exact violation.

2. Reconstruct the original case

Transfer the event construction

Increase the training ratio bound to e=0.03 while keeping a=0.2. Is the spatial screen still necessarily disjoint?

Retain the chosen events, frame convention and intermediate reasoning before opening public feedback.

Compare a worked response

No. At β=0.57 the predicted spatial difference is about 0.182561, overlapping the measured interval 0.15 to 0.25. Compatibility under a wider declared bound is not new data or a unique confirmation; the original bounds and reason for any revision must remain recorded.

Primary mechanism context. Checked 31 October 2026. Original derivations, records and diagrams; no physical apparatus operation or actual independent clock/particle measurement is claimed. Retain first reasoning and public-feedback exposure in the course evidence workspace when registered.

Apply

Why must β=0.6 be considered when propagating the time bound?

Public practice checks a specific claim. It does not establish independent mastery.

Continue

Completion requires a saved prediction, at least one capture and a reflection. Presence checks do not grade your reasoning.

Skipping retains experiments and awards no mastery.

Save a science backup or import one

Science work is stored locally in this browser, separately from mathematics and AI. It does not sync automatically. Use this science-only backup; this checkout's older all-subject export does not include science.

A legacy file is available only when the complete snapshot fits the 36 MB limit. For larger snapshots, prepare a complete file set below; never discard notebooks to make a smaller file.

Matching imported notebook drafts replace their current drafts. Omitted lessons and known first attempts remain. Export your current work first if you want to retain both drafts.

Complete file sets and course backups

A file set can hold more work than one science file. Keep its manifest and every part together. Each file is limited to 36 MB. This format needs this version of LearnAI or a compatible newer version; older versions can use only the legacy single-file backup above.

The set includes every saved science course and global continuation at this moment. Later edits need a new export. A conflicting tab exports its own visible work, which may differ from saved work in another tab.

0 file(s) selected. File order and filenames do not determine identity. Missing, changed or conflicting parts block the entire restore; no good part is applied by itself.
