Construct the endpoint events that actually measure length
A rod length in a frame is the distance between its endpoints measured simultaneously in that frame. The proper length L0 uses the rod’s rest frame S′. A laboratory S sees the rod move at +β, so its simultaneous endpoint events are not the same pair as the rod-frame simultaneous events.
Learning outcome: Construct both endpoint pairs, transform each explicitly and label which frame imposes simultaneity. Reject any purported length that uses different endpoint times in the measuring frame.
Starting recap
Name event pairs, frame signs and c=1 units; retain simultaneity, worldline integration, four-momentum and unused evidence boundaries.
All lessons are open directly. Your saved experiments remain when you leave and return.
Try
With L0=4 and β=0.6, γ=1.25 and laboratory simultaneous length is 3.2. That laboratory pair has rest-frame time difference −2.4 and spatial difference 4. The rest-simultaneous pair instead transforms to laboratory differences (Δt,Δx)=(3,5).

Which difference in event selection explains 3.2 and 5 without treating either calculation as an algebra mistake?

Construct simultaneous endpoint events
Worked teaching model · synthetic values · Rigid ideal rod at rest in S′, length L0; S′ moves+β relative to laboratory S. Laboratory length uses endpoint events with Δt=0, while rest length uses a different pair with Δt′=0. No acceleration or material strain calculation.
Reset keeps your prediction, captures and practice history.
Length requires a simultaneity rule; transforming the wrong event pair creates a different observable.

- Two different endpoint pairs: Lab slice Δt=0 gives contracted length. Transforming the rest slice Δt′=0 gives nonzero lab time separation, so its larger Δx is not a lab length measurement.
These original virtual events and collision records are not an actual clock, accelerator, photon-source or practical experiment. No physical apparatus operation is assigned.

Captures preserve recipes and replay their calculated results. They are synthetic model evidence, not physical measurements.

Public practice checks a specific claim. It does not establish independent mastery.
Keep β=0.6 and change L0 to 6. Find laboratory length and the laboratory time difference of the rest-simultaneous pair.

Completion requires a saved prediction, at least one capture and a reflection. Presence checks do not grade your reasoning.
Skipping retains experiments and awards no mastery.
Save a science backup or import one
Science work is stored locally in this browser, separately from mathematics and AI. It does not sync automatically. Use this science-only backup; this checkout's older all-subject export does not include science.
A legacy file is available only when the complete snapshot fits the 36 MB limit. For larger snapshots, prepare a complete file set below; never discard notebooks to make a smaller file.
Matching imported notebook drafts replace their current drafts. Omitted lessons and known first attempts remain. Export your current work first if you want to retain both drafts.
Complete file sets and course backups
A file set can hold more work than one science file. Keep its manifest and every part together. Each file is limited to 36 MB. This format needs this version of LearnAI or a compatible newer version; older versions can use only the legacy single-file backup above.
The set includes every saved science course and global continuation at this moment. Later edits need a new export. A conflicting tab exports its own visible work, which may differ from saved work in another tab.
0 file(s) selected. File order and filenames do not determine identity. Missing, changed or conflicting parts block the entire restore; no good part is applied by itself.
